3. Document Wiring Setup Before removing anything, take photos or draw a diagram of how each wire is connected. For matching wire colours, connectors, etc. This prevents mistakes during re-installation.
4. Disconnect All Connectors Unplug the motor wires, battery wires, throttle and brake sensor wires, any lights or display wires. Some connectors may be weather-sealed; gently pry them loose.
5. Remove Old Controller There are usually screws or bolts holding the controller box in place; remove them.
